ELEVATOR PITCH
Do you know what an elevator pitch is? If you do know, do you have one prepared? An elevator pitch is a 30-60 second pitch on your product or service. Having worked with many businesses, often times when we ask "Tell us a little about your business." The response is "Well...Umm..We do...umm" A quick way to come up with a pitch is to think of 2 sentences why your company is great and 3-4 sentences about what you do well. Work on preparing your pitch - you never know who you might be in an elevator with!

NOT MAXIMIZING SOCIAL MEDIA
Myspace, Facebook, Twitter etc. are all great ways to capitalize on already established networks of millions when advertising your product or service. But just creating a profile is hardly enough to get the most our of these communities. Try these tips to get you started. Interact! Don't just request friend and leave it at that, make it a point to send at least 3 personal messages a day. Have valuable content! Post tips, tricks, tutorials etc. on your page and update it regularly to keep people coming back

FONT FOR REAL
Font faces often don't get their just due. The same word written in a different font can totally change the aesthetic of your marketing materials. While Arial and Times Roman have their place, play with using different fonts in different weights to see what visual effect they have on your message. When using on the web its best to stick to the basics, since different browsers may alter the font totally loosing all your hard work. But in print have fun! There are hundreds of thousands of fonts out there so use 'em!
